Investigate Juventus seems like they paid Lukaku to be one of the Best defenders in the UCL Final while being under contract for Inter.
He may have divided a lot of opinion, but not too long ago Romelu Lukaku was very expensive and one of the best strikers in the world and now Inter Milan aren't signing him on a permanent basis, Chelsea don't want him back in the squad, either Juventus or a move to the Saudi Pro League is his likely options for a new club. What has caused his decline over the past year or so and why he's finding it difficult to find a new club?
From 2019-2021, his first stint at Inter Milan, Romelu Lukaku was in the best form of his career, scoring loads of goals, playing well, showing consistency and in 2021, he was crucial in helping Inter Milan win Serie A for the first time since 2010 and it ended Juventus' 9 year dominance of league titles from 2012-2020. He was in top form he and Lautaro Martinez formed a lethal partnership up top. His excellent goalscoring form at Inter Milan helped him earn a big money move back to Chelsea, and the expectation was for him to take their team to a whole new level because at the time of his arrival they won the champions league and we thought that he would successfully lead the line and make their team much better because they were missing that number 9. The return to Chelsea quickly became a nightmare for Romelu Lukaku, because he struggled for fitness and form, on the field, he never really suited Thomas Tuchel's system he struggled to score goals and make an significant impact and in fact in the 2021/22 season he only scored 8 premier league goals, which is a disaster because a striker that cost 115 million those are flop performances right there from him and it caused him to be benched and the likes of Timo Werner and Kai Havertz attackers who are very inconsistent were starting over him. Off the field, the interview he did with Sky Italia didn't help because he expressed how he was unhappy at Chelsea, the system Tuchel was playing he didn't like it and he said that he misses Inter Milan, he regrets leaving and wanted to return. The interview was bad on all levels because he's criticizing the system and formation the manager was using, he was talking about another club, his old team when he was playing for Chelsea, and after that he was dropped for a game. Thomas Tuchel sent the message to Romelu Lukaku, that "no player is bigger than the club", and he was right in dropping him and from that moment on, their relationship deteriorated and he couldn't perform on the pitch.
Lukaku have a right to choose where he wants to play. Don't forget this is going to be his last big contract.
